Mitchell's Rig Of Doom

Postby M2k » Sat Sep 12, 2009 6:51 pm

RIghto, in my rig i have started to get a little technical
my signal path goes from one of my 3 Electrics into My Dunlop Crybaby GCB95F into a Boss DS-2 Turbo Distoriton then into a Boss CH-1 Super Chorus. Then I run my signal in Stereo with my Black Little Giant and Ashton Solidstate.

the tone is amazing

EDIT: the 3rd electric guitar is in at the shop getting the electronics re-done as of loss of output from humbuckers

i find the blackheart is treating me really good, gives a nice thick sound when od is added and gives its own natural tube od even though there is no gain knob

A DS-2 with the tone right up into a blackheart with the mid's totally scooped bass rolled back and treble at full ....

does it by any chance give a sound a bit like static?

oh dear >_< in all honesty, with practice you should be able to get this to sound quite decent, especially for more vintage crunch tones as you can really push 5w hard at a lower volume. I know how good these sound, i was contemplating modding one for an fx loop and 4-cabling it with my pod, one of my uni mates needed cash and he had it in his dorm room. In the end i cbf. It is a good amp, i wouldn't personally bother running it in stereo with the ashton and please use more mids! It will sound alot heavier if you use more mids and less gain. Scooping will cover your mistakes and you'll never cut through in a band. A less scooped, lower gain tone will give more thump & less slop and sound a helluva lot more aggressive. I managed to get a good modern metal tone just with my modded od808 and warpigs

At least the DS-2 will add some mid's but jesus the amount of treble in use compared to bass and lower mid ... it must sound like angry bees trying to escape from a small tin

(that doesn't sound like a band as far as I know ... hope he doesn't get mixed up again)
