ARRGHH!!

THAN... not THEN... And that sentence isn't even structured properly...

I hope you don't do EVERYTHING that fast... Otherwise you'll be single for a long, long time.

There isn't some kind of battle royale collar attached to your neck that explodes if you don't post fast enough. There is, however, an edit button that can prevent you from looking like you can't spell the language you're typing in. It'd be a good thing for you to learn to use.

This thread has me in stitches btw, keep it up guys
...because you can't spell "manslaughter" without "laughter"

I just finished year 12 music (we had to do minimum 4 pieces, maximum 25 minutes), and the advice we were given was to basically try to show as many different skills as possible, so if you're able to do more than one song, choose songs that require different techniques, are from different genres, some fast some slow, and as Shane said, songs that will give you a lot of freedom over the dynamics and expression. In the end I did a ballad, a 'lead guitar' song, a funk song, a jazz chordal piece, a rock song, Minor Swing (I don't really know what that would come under, it was in the 'single note' category), and I think I did one other but I can't remember what it is (oddly, music was my least favourite subject, and the subject I got the lowest score in, despite having the guy who wrote the course as a theory teacher, and a guitar examiner as a teacher :-) )

our assesments for the year are 2 performance's, 2 compositions, 2 Critical Analysis and 1 reflect task where we choose a genre of music and have to write an essay on it

all I did for my piece was throw together a medley type of thing consisting of parts of songs I know how to do well
the songs included in this order

Waiting For 22 (just the intro and slide solo)
Speak (intro)
Constant Motion (intro)
All Nightmare Long (both the solos and interlude between them)
Shortest Straw (last chorus and coda)

I know the parts of the songs for the medley sound like they didnt go together well, it sounded better cause i did little 5-10sec fills to put it in the correct key, time etc. to make it sound like its part of the song
